Call for Speakers

Our Call for Speakers is currently open. Important Note: We ask that you do not apply for a TED-style Talk until you have been admitted and have registered to attend AAC.

Please read below for more information.

TED-Style Talks

Do you have an idea or story you would like to share with your fellow AAC Participants? Present a TED-style Talk at AAC 2017! Each year, admitted participants are invited to audition for a 5-10 minute platform to address the entire conference. This powerful opportunity allows you to share an idea or story in a room with over 300 engaged Afghan-American leaders.

Deadline to submit your Talk: Sunday, March 19th at 11:59 PM PST.

  1. Upload your video on YouTube (either public or unlisted)

  2. Title it "Your Name - Title of Talk [AAC 2017 TED Audition]"

  3. Upload your PowerPoint (if applicable) via Google Slides (public)

  4. Submit (1) the YouTube link and (2) the Google Slides link here.

Suggested guidelines for your TED-style Talk include, but are not limited to:

  • Present something engaging and relevant for our Afghan-American audience

  • Choose a topic you are passionate about

  • Include a personal story or anecdote

  • Focus on making the Afghan-American community better

  • Promote AAC's vision of an empowered, supportive, and engaged community

  • Highlight a problem or issue facing our community and provides solutions

We are excited to guide through the speaker process and are committed to assisting you with creating a powerful, one-of-a-kind talk.
